Tom Brady’s Support for Shedeur Sanders
Tom Brady expressed his support for Shedeur Sanders during the 2025 NFL Draft when he experienced an unexpected drop, falling all the way to the fifth round. Despite the surprise of his selection position, Brady emphasized that the true test is on the field, regardless of draft outcomes.
During a podcast appearance, Brady revealed he reached out to Sanders with a message of encouragement:
“I said dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that’s your first day. Day 2 matters more than the draft. I was (pick) 199. So who could speak on it better than me? Like, what that really means? Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances. Go take advantage of it.”
(Translation: “The second day of the NFL matters more than being drafted; it is about making the most of the opportunity ahead.”)
Brady, noted for being selected as the 199th pick in his draft year, has a deep understanding of the importance of perseverance, having gone on to achieve extraordinary success, including winning an NFL-record seven Super Bowls.
Sanders, who eventually got drafted by the Cleveland Browns, now has the chance to prove the doubters wrong. However, questions remain about why the Las Vegas Raiders, of which Brady is a minority owner, opted not to draft him despite their quarterback needs.
