Aston Villa Denies Arsenal's Bid for Striker Ollie Watkins Amid Transfer Talks

Arsenal's recent bid for Ollie Watkins has been turned down by Aston Villa as they seek to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal has expressed interest in securing Ollie Watkins to enhance their attacking lineup, particularly due to a significant knee injury affecting Gabriel Jesus. The player has been a reliable scorer for Aston Villa, netting 69 goals since 2020 when he joined from Brentford.

Villa reportedly rejected a £60 million offer from Arsenal, as they aim to keep their squad intact amid increasing competition in the Premier League.

“There are situations open and I always say the same. If we can improve the squad with players who can impact us now and in the future, we will try to do that if it is the best thing for the club, and I stand by that,” said Mikel Arteta, emphasizing the club’s need to bolster their squad before the window closes.
