Wide receiver Jayden Higgins has indeed created a significant mark in NFL history. His agent, Chris Cabott from Equity Sports, confirmed that the Houston Texans and Higgins have finalized an unprecedented fully guaranteed four-year contract worth $11.7 million. This development makes Higgins the first second-round selection in NFL history to secure a fully guaranteed agreement.
The Texans selected Higgins with the 34th overall pick during the 2025 NFL Draft. Starting his college career, he played two seasons at Eastern Kentucky before transferring to Iowa State to finish his final two years. In 2024, Higgins achieved second-team All-Big 12 honors after amassing 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns, which are personal bests. The previous year, he recorded 53 catches for 983 yards and six touchdowns for the Cyclones.
In addition to Higgins, the Texans’ 2025 draft class features offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery (round 2, pick 48), another Iowa State wide receiver, Jaylin Noel (round 3, pick 79), and cornerback Jaylin Smith (round 3, pick 97), among others. Higgins and Noel are now the second and third Iowa State wide receivers on the Texans’ roster, alongside 2023 sixth-round selection Xavier Hutchinson.
