Alyssa and Gisele Thompson Extend Contracts with Angel City FC until 2028

Alyssa and Gisele Thompson, promising talents in women's soccer, have signed contract extensions with Angel City FC that will keep them with the team through the 2028 season.

Angel City FC has announced that forwards Alyssa and Gisele Thompson have agreed to contract extensions with the club on Wednesday. The sisters, aged 20 and 19 respectively, are recognized as future superstars in the league and U.S. women’s national team programs, now committed to the team until 2028.

Sources have indicated to CBS Sports that both players received interest from European clubs prior to their extensions.

The Thompson sisters previously played for Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City, California, where they not only partnered with Nike but also became champions in their regional high school championships back in 2021. They also previously won a championship with Santa Clarita Blue Heat before joining Angel City FC.

Mark Parsons, ACFC Sporting Director, expressed his excitement: “Alyssa and Gisele are very important for our club’s future, but also for the success of our league. We are thrilled that they are staying home in LA for four more years.”

Alyssa Thompson made history as the youngest player drafted in NWSL and has been achieving great success, scoring nine goals and making nine assists in 53 appearances since she joined in 2023. She was a finalist for the Rookie of the Year in 2023 and has made the Best XI three times across her two seasons.

Gisele, who joined the club in 2024, also made her mark having played 16 matches and being part of the U-20 USWNT bronze win at both the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and the 2023 Pan American Games.

Gisele shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m so happy to have the opportunity to continue to grow with this team. We have such amazing players and our solid chemistry makes me confident that we can win a championship!”
