Anthony Edwards Shines in Timberwolves Victory Over Warriors
Anthony Edwards leads the Timberwolves with a remarkable performance against the Warriors, securing a crucial playoff win.
In Saturday night’s intense game, Anthony Edwards poured in 28 points during the second half to help the Minnesota Timberwolves defeat the Golden State Warriors 102-97, taking a 2-1 lead in their playoff series.
Edwards scored a total of 36 points, including a crucial 3-pointer with just 1:19 left on the clock. Meanwhile, Julius Randle contributed with a triple-double of 24 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. The Timberwolves seemed to find their rhythm, especially late in the game, thanks to Edwards’ performance.
Jimmy Butler also had a significant impact, scoring 33 points alongside 7 assists and 7 rebounds. But the Warriors struggled without Stephen Curry, who is out due to a left hamstring strain sustained in Game 1.
Jonathan Kuminga stepped up for the Warriors with 30 points off the bench, but the team lacked cohesion without Curry’s presence. He shot 11 for 18 in the game while Draymond Green faced issues, fouling out late and expressing frustration on the bench.
The Timberwolves dominated the boards, and despite Buddy Hield bringing the Warriors within 93-89 late in the game, they couldn’t capitalize on opportunities and ultimately lost ground to the Timberwolves who maintained a steady lead.
Looking ahead, Game 4 is set for Monday night at the Chase Center. Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr emphasized the importance of playing solid defense, an area they struggled with as the game concluded.
