Car Crashes into Crowd at Espanyol Game, Causing Minor Injuries

An incident occurred outside the RCDE Stadium during a Barcelona match, resulting in eight people injured.

During a recent soccer game at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, a vehicle crashed into a gathering of fans, resulting in minor injuries to at least eight individuals. This unfortunate event took place in the early minutes of the match between Barcelona and Espanyol.

As the incident unfolded, spectators inside the stadium alerted officials, pleading for the referee to stop the game. Some fans escalated their efforts by trying to redirect the attention of Espanyol’s goalkeeper, Joan Garcia, which ultimately led to a temporary suspension of the match. Despite their efforts, these fans were subsequently escorted out by security.

Reports confirm that all injuries were minor, and Salvador Ilia, the president of the Catalonian government, stated that there was no indication of malice behind the event. The local police also reassured the public that there was no threat to those present in the stadium, and similar announcements were made within the venue.

Barcelona managed to secure a 2-0 victory in the match, cementing their title as champions of La Liga with a goal from Lamine Yamal.
