Jim Ross Faces Colon Cancer Diagnosis Amid Ongoing Health Struggles

Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross has disclosed his recent colon cancer diagnosis, marking yet another health challenge for the AEW personality.

Jim Ross is once again confronting significant health challenges. The legendary wrestling commentator currently affiliated with All Elite Wrestling announced his colon cancer diagnosis via X on Thursday afternoon.

“Diagnosed this week with colon cancer,” Ross’s post read. “Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two. I appreciate your concern and support.”

Ross is best known for his unforgettable two-decade tenure with WWE from 1993 to 2013, where he partnered with color commentator Jerry Lawler during the influential “Attitude Era.” While this WWE period is widely recognized, Ross’s career includes work with various promotions such as Mid-South Wrestling, Jim Crocket Promotions, and World Championship Wrestling.

He has faced multiple health issues in recent years. In 2021, Ross announced that he was diagnosed with skin cancer. Moreover, in February 2024, he posted on X that he had successful surgery related to cancer on his right hip. Additionally, he lives with Bell’s palsy, which results in temporary facial muscle weakness or paralysis.

Since joining AEW in 2019, Ross has temporarily stepped away from commentary due to various health concerns. Besides his current commentary responsibilities at AEW, he also serves in an analytical and advisory capacity.
