The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a significant hiring with the addition of Anthony Campanile, who previously served as an assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers. Campanile, now the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator under head coach Liam Coen, is recognized for his aggressive defensive mindset that can adapt to the players’ strengths.
In a statement, Coen expressed, “Anthony Campanile represents exactly what we want to be as a defensive unit and football team. He brings an aggressive defensive mindset and a system that is adaptable to our players and allows them to play fast and physical.”
Campanile, aged 42, has swiftly climbed the ranks in the NFL, having joined the league as a linebackers coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2020, before moving to the Packers where he served in a similar role. In his previous post, Campanile contributed to a successful season for the Packers, helping them reach the playoffs with a defense that ranked sixth in the league in points allowed.
Now, he’s tasked with revitalizing a Jaguars defense that struggled last season, allowing high yardage and points against.
