Bronny James Receives Warm Reception in Lakers' Victory Against Wizards
The Los Angeles Lakers triumphed over the Washington Wizards, with Bronny James making a notable impact in the final quarter.
LeBron James scored 24 points and assisted 11 times before resting during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 134-96 victory against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
While James was on the bench, his son Bronny James played the entire fourth quarter and achieved a personal best of five points, much to the audience’s excitement even on enemy territory.
The audience had been chanting for Bronny long before he took to the court. Despite a shooting record of 1 for 6, he managed his first basket through a driving layup while being fouled by Tristan Vukcevic, converting the resulting free throw into a three-point play.
This game marked the Washington Wizards’ 16th consecutive loss, matching a franchise record, and was only the second time this season they have faced such a slump.
The game was not competitive after the initial minutes, even with the Lakers missing Anthony Davis due to an abdominal strain. The Wizards, on the other hand, struggled without rookie Alex Sarr, who had a sprained left ankle.
Los Angeles rebounded from a recent 14-point loss at Philadelphia, clinching five victories in their last six games.
This was the largest margin of victory for the Lakers this season, exceeding their previous win against the Wizards by 23 points just weeks before.
During the match, Dalton Knecht, a Lakers rookie, was ejected for receiving two technical fouls for apparently arguing.
Jordan Poole led the scoring for the Wizards with 19 points.
