Former NFL Player Adarius Taylor Detained in Florida During Human Trafficking Operation

Adarius Taylor, a former NFL linebacker, was among over 250 individuals arrested during a human trafficking sting in Florida.

Former Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers linebacker Adarius Taylor was one of over 250 individuals detained during a nine-day human trafficking operation in Florida, as reported by The Orlando Sentinel.

Taylor, who played seven seasons in the NFL and also had time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested as part of ‘Operation Fool Around and Find Out,’ conducted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Grady Judd stated that Taylor reportedly left his 6-year-old child in the car while he went inside during the sting operation. The charges he faces include felony negligent child abuse without bodily harm and misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

“Obviously he must have hit one too many people as a linebacker, because his brain cells are scrambled,” Judd remarked.

The New York Post reported that among the 255 detained, 141 individuals were charged with soliciting prostitutes, and 93 for offering to commit prostitution, along with several other charges.

Taylor initially signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent from FAU in 2014, returning to the franchise for two games in the 2020 season. He was cut in 2015, spent time on the practice squad, and later joined the Buccaneers, where he played for four years.

In 2018, after changing his name to honor his father, Taylor signed a two-year deal with the Browns but only played one season before being released.

Taylor last played professional football in 2023 with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
