The NFC East is among the most fiercely contested divisions in the NFL. All teams have strengthened during the offseason, yet the Dallas Cowboys made a significant move this month by trading for wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Though a divisional rival, A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles acknowledged the value of acquiring a player like Pickens. “I like that, I ain’t gonna lie,” Brown stated during a recent conversation with fans on YouTube.
Despite difficulties in the 2024 season where the Cowboys finished with a 7-10 record after losing quarterback Dak Prescott to injury, Brown realizes that the Eagles must stay alert to the developments in their division. “We’re going to have to worry about Dallas, for sure. I like the trade. I do like the trade. I like George Pickens, I like CeeDee Lamb. It’s going to be exciting to watch.”
He added, “No matter the scoreboard, these are the toughest games we face. Particularly against Dallas and Washington. It might look easy, but it’s anything but.”
The Eagles outperformed the Cowboys twice in the 2024 season, clinching victories by a cumulative score of 75-13. Now, with Pickens on board, the Cowboys boast a powerful offensive duo alongside Lamb. Pickens totaled 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns in his tenure with the Steelers prior to this trade.
As the Eagles prepare for their first encounter with the Cowboys on September 4, 2025, the stakes are high.
