U.S. national team head coach Emma Hayes is continuously fostering opportunities for players. She has selected a 24-player roster for the forthcoming matches against China and Jamaica, introducing new faces as the coaching staff evaluates the roster ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The USWNT will commence their international window against China on May 31 and then conclude the series with Jamaica on June 3.
“Everyone always earns their call-ups but there are some much-deserved call-ups in this camp for players who have shown consistency in league play,” stated Hayes.
“We have two different types of opponents ahead of us, so we’ll have to be creative in breaking down those teams in different ways. Our players are at a good level following their club schedules or fresh from their European seasons.”
Familiar faces from the NWSL will be making their senior national team debut as Kerry Abello and Lo’eau LaBonta receive their first USWNT call-ups. Likewise, goalkeeper Claudia Dickey returns, with hopes of starting for the first time in goal.
Naomi Girma makes her return after recovering from a calf injury, while Lynn Biyendolo is back from a lower leg injury. Olivia Moultrie rejoins the roster for the first time in over a year after her previous appearance during the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.
The team will play against Ireland following the matches against China and Jamaica.
