The Atlanta Dream is dedicated to inspiring the next wave of women basketball players through its new initiative titled ‘Pay Some Respect to Women’s Sports.’ This program aims to highlight and support future female athletes.
The Dream introduced this initiative on Wednesday, which will feature the phrase prominently at center court during its home opener against the Indiana Fever at State Farm Arena. Following the event, the court will be donated to a local youth organization.
“Pay some respect to women’s sports.
New season.
New era.
New court.
It’s more than just a statement, it’s a movement.”

[Translation: Pay some respect to women’s sports. New season. New era. New court. It’s more than just a statement, it’s a movement.]
Morgan Shaw Parker, president and COO of the Atlanta Dream, stated in a press release, “Paying respect to women’s sports is at the heart of this partnership, and our goal is to set a new standard for how brands and teams collaborate to elevate girls and women who are earning that respect every day.”
The court itself is being touted as a ‘first-of-its-kind WNBA statement court,’ and a special performance will take place at halftime. Additionally, the empowerment phrase will make appearances on the team’s practice jerseys, which fans will also be able to purchase.
