Novak Djokovic Claims 100th ATP Title by Overcoming Hubert Hurkacz in Geneva Open Finale
Novak Djokovic secures his 100th ATP title at the Geneva Open, joining the ranks of tennis legends.
Novak Djokovic won his 100th ATP title at the Geneva Open, cementing his place alongside tennis legends. He defeated Hubert Hurkacz, who had been unbeaten in the tournament until the final, overcoming the challenge after losing the first set. Djokovic required tiebreakers in the last two sets but secured the win 7-2 in the final tiebreak to claim his milestone title.
In achieving this feat, Djokovic has joined Jimmy Connors (109 titles) and Roger Federer (103 titles) as the only players with 100 or more ATP titles, reinforcing his legacy in tennis history.
Before the final match, Djokovic faced a tough semifinal against Cameron Norrie, winning the first set but losing the second in a tiebreak. He rallied back strongly to take the final set decisively. Just days before, he celebrated his birthday by defeating Matteo Arnaldi in the quarterfinals, laying to rest a previous loss in their earlier encounter.
Although the journey to his 100th title was rocky, with Djokovic experiencing early exits in several tournaments post-Olympics, he can now approach the French Open unencumbered by the pressure of this title chase as the No. 6 seed.
