After a tied game at 1, Jesper Boqvist scored soon after the start of the third period, putting Florida in the lead with a well-placed shot past goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov.
This marked Boqvist’s second goal in the playoffs, following his earlier performance against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Panthers raised their lead with two additional goals from Niko Mikkola and Aleksander Barkov within just 29 seconds.
The Hurricanes tried their best to keep up, tying the game at 1-1 with a late second-period goal from Logan Stanhoven after a rebound from a Brent Burns shot. However, the Panthers’ potent offense proved too much to handle.
With this win, Florida now holds a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, poised to reach the Stanley Cup Final for a third consecutive year. The potential series clincher is set to take place in South Florida on Monday.
