Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt Contributes to Pat Tillman Foundation in Tribute to Former Sun Devil

Sam Leavitt, a sensational quarterback for Arizona State, has made significant contributions to the Pat Tillman Foundation as a gesture of gratitude following a remarkable debut season.

Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, who impressed in his first season with the Sun Devils and is projected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, made a generous $15,000 donation to the Pat Tillman Foundation in recognition of the support he received from the community during his outstanding debut in Tempe. The foundation, which honors former Arizona State player Pat Tillman, provides scholarships and leadership opportunities for military families.

“I just want to give back to the community and the people that support me and my programs,” Leavitt stated. “It’s a big thing for me and my family. I’ve got a cousin who’s a Green Beret. It means a lot to me.”
Translation: I want to honor my roots and those who help us. It’s meaningful for me personally.

The foundation has awarded over $37 million to more than 900 scholars, showcasing its commitment to uplifting those who serve in the military. Last season, Leavitt was an instrumental figure in guiding the Sun Devils to a Big 12 title and a College Football Playoff quarterfinal but remains focused on his education and philanthropic efforts.

Moreover, Arizona State has honored Tillman by retiring his number 42 jersey, affirming his lasting legacy in college football.
