Tyrese Haliburton's Father Granted Access to Attend Pacers Game 4

John Haliburton's ban from attending Indiana Pacers games is lifted as he prepares to support his son in the Eastern Conference finals.

John Haliburton, father of player Tyrese Haliburton, can now attend the Indiana Pacers home games during the playoffs once more. He will be present when the Pacers take on the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday, according to a source with knowledge of the team’s decision.

Previously, John Haliburton faced an indefinite suspension from attending games due to an incident involving Giannis Antetokounmpo. After the Pacers’ victory over the Bucks in Game 5, he rushed onto the court waving a towel featuring his son’s image in front of Antetokounmpo, resulting in a confrontation.

In response to the incident, both Tyrese and Giannis criticized John’s behavior, highlighting its disrespectful nature. Following discussions between John Haliburton and the Pacers’ front office, it was initially decided that he would need to refrain from attending team games for an indefinite period.

However, as the Pacers progressed further in the playoffs, there was an increasing demand for John to be allowed back. Tyrese himself advocated for his father’s presence during a TNT Sports interview, saying, “free my pops until it’s backwards” after their Game 2 win over the Knicks.

Notably, John has supported the Pacers throughout their playoff campaign, even being spotted in a bar while watching Tyrese’s key shot that forced overtime during the Eastern Conference finals. He was dressed in Pacers attire and showed his excitement as he cheered for his son’s achievements.

In another instance, John was seen joyfully reciting lyrics from Rob49’s song as he celebrated the team’s progress. Now, he is set to enjoy the upcoming game in a suite, although he remains barred from traveling with the team for away games.
