The Florida Panthers had dominated the early stages of the Eastern Conference Final. However, the Carolina Hurricanes pushed back with a strong defensive performance, managing a decisive 3-0 victory in Game 4 on Monday.
Goaltender Frederik Andersen successfully blocked all 20 shots he faced, marking his second shutout of the playoffs. The Hurricanes scored at the 10:45 mark in the second period, thanks to a powerful shot from forward Logan Stankoven, which made it past Sergei Bobrovsky, the Panthers’ goaltender. Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal secured the win with empty-net goals towards the end of the game, enabling the Hurricanes to push the series further.
Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, the Edmonton Oilers claimed a solid 6-1 victory over the Dallas Stars, taking a 2-1 series lead after an explosive performance.
