The LA Clippers have finalized a trade, sending P.J. Tucker and Mo Bamba to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Patty Mills and Drew Eubanks, according to a source who spoke with the Associated Press on Saturday.
This agreement also includes a future second-round draft pick, as revealed by the anonymous source.
ESPN was the first to report this trade, which is crucial as the deadline approaches on Thursday afternoon.
This transaction enables the Clippers to slip under the luxury tax threshold while potentially allowing for other roster enhancements this season. Bamba played 28 games for the Clippers this season, contributing an average of 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds.
Tucker has not seen playtime this season after agreeing with the team in October that he would step away, as efforts were made to trade the 39-year-old veteran for some time. Tucker previously joined the Clippers in a deal that included James Harden moving from the Philadelphia 76ers. He is currently in the last year of his three-year, $33 million deal and could be a potential candidate for a buyout.
Eubanks, who celebrated his 28th birthday on Saturday, averaged 5.8 points for the Jazz this season, whereas Mills, a seasoned NBA player who was a part of the San Antonio Spurs championship team in 2014, averaged 4.4 points across 17 games with Utah.
