Cristiano Ronaldo's Future: Is a Match Against Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup Possible?

Cristiano Ronaldo teases his potential move amid offers as he hints at ongoing discussions regarding his future; could he face Real Madrid soon?

Is it possible that Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup starting on June 14 in the United States and potentially face his former club, Real Madrid? The 40-year-old superstar has hinted at his future in a social media message following a goal in Al Nassr’s 3-2 defeat to Al Fateh on the final day of the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo stated, “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Thanks to all,” generating speculation about his future with the club. Reports by French journalist Santi Aouna reveal that he has two offers: one from his current team Al Nassr and another from Al-Hilal, the Saudi club that will participate in the Club World Cup alongside Real Madrid.

Al-Hilal is also searching for a new head coach after dismissing Jorge Jesus, with talks ongoing to appoint Inter manager Simone Inzaghi, who has been offered a lucrative three-year contract worth $50 million.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has indicated that discussions regarding Ronaldo playing in the FIFA Club World Cup are ongoing, stating: “There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows.”

Cristiano Ronaldo finished the season with 25 league goals, earning the top scorer title, but his team Al Nassr ended up third in the standings, trailing champions Al-Ittihad by 13 points. Since arriving in the Saudi League in 2022, he has netted 93 goals in 105 matches and amassed a career total of 936 goals across his tenure with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr.
