Nesmith Set to Return for Game 4 Against Knicks

Aaron Nesmith of the Indiana Pacers will play in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, returning from an ankle injury.

The Indiana Pacers have announced that Aaron Nesmith, their key defender, is set to return for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the New York Knicks tonight.

Coach Rick Carlisle indicated on Monday that Nesmith’s sprained right ankle remained tender, making his participation uncertain. However, during the pre-game press conference, Carlisle confirmed that Nesmith would indeed take to the court.

Nesmith has been instrumental as Indiana’s leading defender against All-Star guard Jalen Brunson. After Nesmith exited Game 3 in the third quarter, the Pacers surrendered a significant lead, resulting in a 106-100 defeat. Though Nesmith returned in that game, he wasn’t at his best. Currently, the Pacers lead the series 2-1.

“He’s doing better than expected,” Carlisle remarked, addressing the potential limitation of Nesmith’s playing minutes, “It will depend on the game’s flow, but I will monitor everyone’s minutes carefully.”

Nesmith’s injury occurred after he landed awkwardly post-pass, which sailed into the stands.

He had previously achieved a playoff career-high of 30 points in Game 1, setting a franchise postseason record with eight 3-pointers.
