Injury Update: Bryce Harper Leaves Game After Getting Hit on Elbow

Bryce Harper, the Philadelphia Phillies star, was forced to exit the game after a fastball hit his previously injured elbow.

The star slugger of the Philadelphia Phillies, Bryce Harper, left the game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday after being struck on the right elbow by a fastball measuring 95.3 mph from Spencer Strider in the first inning.

Harper has a right elbow contusion, as announced by the team, but initial X-rays came back negative. Here’s a look at the incident:

After Harper’s exit, Edmundo Sosa took over at first base, while Alec Bohm moved from third base to fill Harper’s position. This season, Harper, now 32, has a batting line of .267/.375/.450 with eight home runs across 33 games, marking him as a critical player for the Phillies, who lead the National League East with a .638 winning percentage.
