Brunson and Gilgeous-Alexander Enter Exclusive NBA Playoff League with Legends

Two rising stars join the ranks of NBA greats by reaching remarkable postseason milestones.

There’s no higher status in the NBA than being mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan and LeBron James. With numerous records between them, they’ve set an incredible standard in basketball. Recently, the unique achievement of scoring at least 30 points and securing five assists in ten playoff games seemed exclusive to them.

However, the 2025 postseason has witnessed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Brunson join this elite group, significantly raising the competition.

On Wednesday, during the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder triumphed over the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking their first NBA Finals appearance since 2012. Gilgeous-Alexander had a stunning performance with 34 points and 8 assists, securing the Western Conference Finals MVP trophy and his place in the elite 30-10-5 club.

The very next day, Brunson similarly rose to the occasion, scoring 32 points alongside five assists, sending his team, the New York Knicks, to a pivotal Game 5 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals. Now, the club has expanded, dramatically increasing the stakes for the rest of the playoffs.

As it stands, both of these players look towards breaking the historical records set by Jordan and James, who both amassed the 30-point five-assist feats three times throughout their extraordinary careers.

Further development could lead to one of them setting a new record, with both needing just two more 30-5 games this postseason. While championship rings remain the most significant measure of greatness, this exclusive club offers exciting potential for basketball’s next stars.
