UFC Fight Night: Maycee Barber's Health Issue Causes Last-Minute Cancellation

Main event canceled just before fighters were set to walk out due to a medical emergency involving Maycee Barber.

What began as a standard introduction to a UFC event turned concerning when the main event was suddenly scrapped. The anticipated matchup between Maycee Barber and Erin Blanchfield was abruptly called off just before the walkouts. During the introduction package, UFC commentator Brendan Fitzgerald announced a delay, stating, “Maycee Barber and Erin Blanchfield, will they fight? We don’t know.” Following a short break, it was revealed that Barber was not medically cleared to compete due to a seizure. Blanchfield, who was informed of Barber’s condition by UFC executive Hunter Campbell, expressed her disappointment and mentioned that Barber had also missed weight before the fight.

Commentators acknowledged Barber’s recent health struggles, noting the seriousness of her situation. Daniel Cormier expressed sympathy for both Barber and Blanchfield, emphasizing the preparation that went into the fight.
