PSG Takes Early Command in Champions League Final Against Inter

Paris Saint-Germain capitalizes on defensive mistakes from Inter, scoring two goals in the first half.

In the Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) quickly established their dominance, taking a two-goal lead against Inter within the first 20 minutes. Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue capitalized on Inter’s defensive lapses, scoring in a match PSG aims to win for the first time.

The opening goal was characteristic of PSG’s attacking prowess in 2025, initiated when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia advanced near the left touchline into the box. The play shifted from Fabian Ruiz to Vitinha, who set up Doue perfectly to assist Hakimi for a simple finish. This marked Hakimi’s fourth goal of the season, happening against the club he previously played for in 2020-21.

The goal was also significant as it represented PSG’s first-ever score in a Champions League final. Following that, their second goal showcased their ability to counter-attack, with Ousmane Dembele passing to Doue, whose deflected shot gave PSG a secure lead.

Inter’s defender Dimarco was notably underwhelming in dealing with both goals, particularly when Hakimi found space behind him. The match has already unfolded aggressively, demonstrating PSG’s tactical strength and offensive skill, leaving Inter with significant challenges ahead.
