2025 NBA Finals MVP Betting: Will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Achieve the Trio?
A look at the odds for the MVP of the 2025 NBA Finals, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander aiming for a historical trifecta.
The NBA regular-season MVP is gearing up to attempt a rare feat in the Finals.
This year’s NBA Finals will see the Oklahoma City and Indiana teams compete for the championship, each having navigated through the playoffs with impressive 12-4 records.
Both teams are vying not only for the Larry O’Brien Trophy but also for the Bill Russell Finals MVP award.
Will league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander be able to complete the MVP sweep? Let’s examine the current odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of June 1.
2025 NBA Finals MVP Odds
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: -600 (bet $10 to win $11.67 total)
- Tyrese Haliburton: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)
- Pascal Siakam: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
- Jalen Williams: +3000 (bet $10 to win $310 total)
- Chet Holmgren: +7500 (bet $10 to win $760 total)
- Myles Turner: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total)
Gilgeous-Alexander is the frontrunner to win the award, largely due to his status as league MVP and the fact that his team is strongly favored to win the Finals at -700.
Historically, only one player, Jerry West of the Lakers in 1969, won the Finals MVP while playing for the losing team. In total, there have been 10 players who have achieved both regular-season MVP and Finals MVP, including icons like LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
Gilgeous-Alexander has a unique opportunity ahead this season to become the first player to win regular-season MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, and NBA Finals MVP.
The Earvin “Magic” Johnson Trophy (for the West finals MVP) alongside the Larry Bird Trophy (for the East finals MVP) were established only four years ago, so many legendary players including Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar never had the chance to earn this recognition.
Nikola Jokić came the closest in 2023, capturing both the Western Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP, while Joel Embiid took home the regular-season MVP that same year.
As for Tyrese Haliburton, recently named Eastern Conference Finals MVP, he still has a shot at claiming two MVP awards this season if his Pacers can achieve an upset victory.
