Expert Insights on 2025 RBC Canadian Open: Betting Predictions and Analysis

Golf expert Eric Cohen provides betting predictions and insights for the 2025 RBC Canadian Open, emphasizing Rory McIlroy's performance and top longshot options.

Rory McIlroy will play at TPC Toronto this Thursday, marking his return since the PGA Championship. He is the +450 favorite for the event after completing his career grand slam at the Masters in April. Ludvig Aberg, who previously won the Genesis Invitational, follows as the second favorite at +1400. He has struggled to secure a top-10 finish since the Masters.

Corey Conners, a consistent performer with two PGA Tour wins, is a +2000 longshot, currently the top-ranked Canadian at No. 21 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Eric Cohen strongly recommends placing bets on Conners, who is +360 to finish in the top five at TPC Toronto. Cohen, a regular on SportsLine’s YouTube channel, is known for accurately predicting the outright winner in several tournaments over the last few seasons.

Cohen, however, has concerns about McIlroy’s performance. “This is a tune-up event for Rory, who is looking to perform well ahead of the U.S. Open. Despite his impressive past in Canada, I’m worried about his recent form, particularly his iron play. While he could finish in the top five, I recommend fading him in this tournament.”

On the other hand, Cohen is bullish about Shane Lowry at +2200. Although he missed the cut at the PGA Championship, he’s finished in the top 25 in nine of his last 12 tournaments and is recognized as one of the top golfers in the field.
