The renowned artists will bring their musical talents to the MLB Speedway Classic, enhancing the dual experience of a thrilling baseball game and live concert.
Major League Baseball is headed to the racetrack for a unique event featuring the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on August 2. This year’s MLB Speedway Classic will combine baseball action with a live concert headlined by Pitbull and Tim McGraw. All ticket holders will have access to the concert, expected to kick off ahead of the game.
Pitbull, known for his pop and Latin hits, and Tim McGraw, a seasoned country artist, will bring an exciting blend of music to the renowned speedway. The duo recently collaborated on the track “Get Get Get Down,” which could be a featured performance at the event.
McGraw boasts a lengthy career starting from the 1990s, with notable hits including ‘Don’t Take the Girl’, ‘Live Like You Were Dying’, ‘Highway Don’t Care’, and ‘I Like It, I Love It’. His appearances also extend to film and television, featuring in projects like Friday Night Lights, The Blindside, and Yellowstone.
Both artists have received Grammy Awards, with McGraw winning three times from 20 nominations, while Pitbull won once from his only nomination. Hailing from Miami, Pitbull’s high-energy performances and fast-paced hits like “Fireball”, “Timber”, and “Give Me Everything” have garnered over 100 million record sales globally.
Knowledgeable about both the music and sports landscapes, Pitbull has performed at MLB events, including the 2013 All-Star Game and the 2017 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, and has been involved with the New York Mets.
With a capacity of around 150,000 fans for NASCAR events, this occasion marks a significant crossover between major league sports and concert performances.
