NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning is expanding his career as he joins the ownership group of Denver’s NWSL expansion team, which is anticipated to debut in 2026. Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion and former Denver Broncos player, aims to make a significant contribution to women’s soccer, aligning with his brother Eli Manning, who also holds a minority stake in Gotham FC.
“It’s a real honor to be part of something so meaningful to the Colorado community,” Manning stated. Translation: “It’s a real honor to be part of something so meaningful to the Colorado community.”
The ownership group for the NWSL team includes several notable figures, such as Ariel Investments, Jon-Erik Borgen, Kaia Borgen Moritz, Neelima Joshi, Dhiren Jhaveri, Molly Coors, and Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin, aiming to foster a diverse and community-focused soccer club.
In January 2025, the franchise was officially granted with a record-breaking expansion fee of $110 million. The team is set to begin play at a temporary venue in Centennial before moving to a permanent stadium in Denver by 2028.
