Italian manager Simone Inzaghi has ended his tenure at Inter Milan after four years. The decision to part ways follows Inter’s humiliating 5-0 loss to PSG in the UEFA Champions League final on May 31. Inzaghi was appointed in the summer of 2021, succeeding Antonio Conte, and will leave the club after guiding them through two Champions League finals, falling short both times.
Despite his European disappointments, Inzaghi concludes his term with good domestic success, having secured one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles. He is expected to join the Saudi club Al-Hilal, with reports of a lucrative contract awaiting him.
Inter Milan expressed their gratitude towards Inzaghi in an official statement, acknowledging his significant contributions to the club. President Giuseppe Marotta reflected, “We thank Simone for his dedication and passion. His tenure saw major achievements and decorum to our club.”
Inzaghi shared his own heartfelt farewell message, reflecting on his journey and expressing deep gratitude to the fans and club staff for their unwavering support. As the Nerazzurri moves forward, they are eyeing potential candidates, including Cesc Fabregas and Roberto De Zerbi, to fill the now vacant managerial position.
