Michigan Extends Offer to Charles Woodson Jr., Heir to Heisman Glory

Michigan has officially proposed an offer to Charles Woodson Jr., a defensive back prospect for 2027 and son of the esteemed former player, Charles Woodson. This significant offer was shared by Woodson Jr. on social media.

He currently plays for Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida, and his recruitment has surged since the beginning of the year. Recently, Syracuse became the first major program to offer him a scholarship. Other schools like Texas A&M, Kentucky, Iowa State, and Florida State followed suit, highlighting his strengths as a player.

Standing at 5'11" and weighing 155 pounds, Woodson Jr. had a strong freshman season in 2023, completing the 2024 season with 53 tackles, one interception, and two pass deflections, placing him at #23 among safeties in his recruiting class. His lineage is notable, sharing space with the children of other NFL stars like Philip Rivers, Jason Witten, and Maurice Jones-Drew.

In addition, the elder Charles Woodson left an indelible mark during his time at Michigan from 1995-97, being a pivotal player with accolades that include the 1997 Heisman Trophy, a feat that made him the first defensive player ever to do so. His subsequent NFL career also boasts numerous achievements, including being a nine-time Pro Bowler.
