Offseason workouts are in full swing across the NFL. Teams are wrapping up OTAs and opening up minicamp before they head out for one last summer break before reconvening for training camp in late July. This sets the stage for the regular season ahead.
These workouts are foundational for the teams and provide an opportunity to analyze the roster and identify potential breakout players for 2025. In this context, we recognize one sleeper player from each AFC team who is currently under the radar but might significantly contribute this season.
AFC East
WR Keon Coleman
With Khalil Shakir signing a four-year extension this offseason and the Bills acquiring Josh Palmer in free agency, Coleman could be overlooked. The second-round pick from 2024 had a solid rookie season and is set to break out in 2025.
RB Jaylen Wright
Miami chose Wright in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft from Tennessee, and he is expected to be the No. 2 running back behind De’Von Achane.
WR Malachi Corley
Despite joining the Jets as a third-round pick in 2024 out of Western Kentucky, Corley faced a rocky rookie season, marked by mistakes. With a new coaching staff, he has a chance for redemption.
EDGE Harold Landry III
Having signed with the Patriots for three years at $43.5 million, Landry could be key to addressing New England’s struggles in getting to the quarterback after a poor showing last season.
RB Keaton Mitchell
Mitchell’s potential was evident prior to his injury. With his health restored, he aims to emerge as a significant contributor to the Ravens’ running game.
LB Payton Wilson
Rookie productivity sets Wilson up for a greater role following Elandon Roberts’ departure, positioning him for increased snaps.
DE Myles Murphy
Tasked with following up on a disappointing rookie performance, Murphy has the chance to step up with the Bengals needing more pressure from their defensive line.
WR Cedric Tillman
Tillman’s role is crucial for the Browns’ offensive success, especially as they navigate quarterback decisions.
WR Christian Kirk
Kirk, traded to the Texans, could become a vital component of their receiving corps connected to C.J. Stroud.
DE Laiatu Latu
As a promising new player for the Colts, Latu displays potential for significant growth after a solid rookie season.
TE Brenton Strange
Following the release of Evan Engram, Strange is set to significantly increase his role in the offense alongside Trevor Lawrence.
WR Elic Ayomanor
Impressing during OTAs, this rookie could shake things up in the Titans’ receiving lineup.
OL Kingsley Suamataia
After changing positions within the Chiefs’ line, Suamataia’s progress could help strengthen their protection unit.
CB Tarheeb Still
With the Chargers reshuffling their secondary, Still’s contributions could expand significantly in this evolution.
WR Marvin Mims Jr.
After a promising finish last season, Mims looks to solidify his impact with enhanced roles expected this year.
DE Malcolm Koonce
Expected back from injury, Koonce has potential to be an essential part of the Raiders’ defensive plan.
