2025 NBA Finals Preview: Thunder vs. Pacers After Stunning Game 1
Indiana's unexpected victory in Game 1 has set the stage for a thrilling 2025 NBA Finals matchup against Oklahoma City.
The 2025 NBA Finals have commenced with a thrilling start as the Indiana Pacers secured a stunning 111-110 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 on Thursday night. Tyrese Haliburton clinched the win with a spectacular pull-up jumper that came just 0.3 seconds before the end, marking a monumental comeback from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, and spectators can expect even greater intensity than the first.
It’s noteworthy that neither franchise has officially won an NBA championship; while the Pacers have yet to triumph in the NBA, they did claim three ABA championships during the 1970s. The Thunder, on the other hand, won a title back in 1979 when they were known as the Seattle SuperSonics, but have not secured a championship since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008.
Given that Oklahoma City finished the regular season with an impressive 68-win record, they will host four out of the seven games in the series.
