Ric Flair is facing skin cancer for the second time. The wrestling icon announced his diagnosis on a Friday, revealing he will begin treatment next week.
Flair, aged 76, initially denied reports about his condition on Thursday but later confirmed them to People magazine. He stated, “It’s the second time in three years that I’ve been dealing with skin cancer. I will be undergoing treatment next week.”
In recent years, Flair has encountered numerous health challenges. In 2017, he underwent surgery to alleviate an obstruction in his bowel, which incurred complications, including kidney failure. Additionally, last year he mentioned experiencing a heart attack during his final match.
Known as “The Nature Boy”, Flair is one of wrestling’s greatest champions. He shares the record for the most world titles recognized by WWE, with 16 reigns alongside John Cena—until Cena surpassed him in April.
A two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Flair is celebrated both for his solo achievements and his induction with the Four Horsemen, as well as being honored in the NWA Hall of Fame and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.
