The team’s recent blockbuster deal sent James’ close friend Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the 25-year-old star Luka Dončić. James remains with the Lakers, aiming to secure his fifth championship at age 40 as he partners with Dončić, who averaged impressive stats this season, such as 28.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
The Lakers currently hold the fifth seed in the Western Conference, trailing the Denver Nuggets by just one game.
