Aaron Rodgers, now part of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has quickly expressed his grievances regarding a new helmet he’s been forced to wear in practice. The four-time MVP notably wore the Schutt Air XP Q11 helmet for years, which was recently banned by the NFL as part of their safety regulations for the 2025 season.
At Tuesday’s practice, he had to use the Schutt F7 Pro model and was not impressed with it:
“I can’t stand the helmet,” Rodgers mentioned during practice. He added, “I’ve worn a Schutt for 20 years and somehow it finally didn’t pass the safety standards.”
A look at the seven helmet models banned for the 2025 season indicates significant changes for players:
- Riddell Foundation
- Riddell Speed Icon
- Riddell Speed
- Riddell Revolution Speed Classic
- Schutt Air XP Pro Q11
- Zenith Epic+
- Zenith Epic
Rodgers, who made a helmet change back in 2019, is increasingly frustrated at having to adapt, especially at his advanced age of 41. Notably, he has had to deal with many transitions this year as he not only switched teams but also recently tied the knot.
