The 2025 NWSL Championship is set to return to California. Officially announced on Friday during CBS Mornings, the event will take place at PayPal Park in San Jose on November 22. This will be the first time the NWSL Championship final is held at this venue, and the second major event hosted in California within the league’s 13-year timeframe.
The 18,000-capacity stadium serves as the home ground for the San Jose Earthquakes and NWSL club Bay FC. In the previous year’s final, NJ/NY Gotham FC emerged victorious at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego. The upcoming championship marks a notable fifth instance of the final occurring on the West Coast.
“We’re thrilled to bring the NWSL Championship back to the West Coast and to a region with as rich a history in women’s soccer as the Bay Area,” said NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman.

“This is another huge win for San Jose. We are thrilled to be selected, and we are absolutely ready to host the NWSL championship game. San Jose has produced many of the nation’s leading soccer stars over the years, making it a perfect location for this event,” remarked San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan.
