NBA Finals 2025: Pacers Seize 2-1 Advantage Over Thunder in Game 3
The Indiana Pacers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, taking the lead in the NBA Finals series. Game 4 is scheduled to take place soon, giving the Pacers a chance to extend their series advantage.
The Indiana Pacers took a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals with a 116-107 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. In a back-and-forth contest, Indiana pulled away after a stellar defensive effort in the fourth quarter during their first home game of the series. The Pacers now have the chance to secure a 3-1 series lead in Game 4 on Friday night.
Neither team has claimed an NBA title: The Pacers have never won the championship, though they secured three ABA titles in the 1970s. The Thunder, who won as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979, have not claimed a championship since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008.
The Thunder entered the series with home-court advantage, having posted a league-best 68 wins in the regular season and being the West’s top seed. The Pacers finished the regular season at 50-32, claiming the 4th seed in the East.
