Florida Football Recruiting: Gators Gain Momentum with Three New Four-Star Commitments in 2026 Class
The Florida Gators have secured three new four-star commitments in a short time frame for the 2026 recruiting class, highlighting a surge in their recruitment efforts.
The Florida Gators are making significant progress in their recruitment efforts, having acquired three new commitments for the 2026 class over a weekend. All three recruits are acknowledged as four-star prospects according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, with Tupelo (Miss.) defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy leading the trio.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound standout decided on Florida after considering multiple other programs, including LSU and Texas. McCoy had previously visited Gainesville in May. As per the rankings, he is the 121st overall prospect nationally and the 16th defensive lineman in the class.
Meanwhile, Marquez Daniel, a wide receiver from Tuskegee (Ala.) Booker T. Washington, also pledged to Florida on the same day, favoring the Gators over Auburn and ranking 178th overall nationally.
The recruitment momentum began on Friday night when running back Carsyn Baker from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes made his commitment to Florida, picking the Gators over significant competition from Florida State and others.
This recent wave of commitments highlights a strong effort by coach Billy Napier and the Gators, who have now added eight of their ten recruits for the 2026 class since June began. Florida ranks 28th overall in the 247Sports Composite team rankings and is positioned sixth among SEC programs.
