The Florida Panthers triumphed once more, securing the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row, defeating the Edmonton Oilers in a thrilling six-game series.

Sam Bennett Shines

Bennett was pivotal for the Panthers, dominating the postseason with a league-leading 15 goals. This performance earned him the prestigious Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff’s most valuable player, making him the first player from the Panthers to receive this honor.

“Bennett’s win marks the first time a Panther has won the Conn Smythe Trophy despite their Cup win in 2024,” said a spokesperson.

His playoff statistics are particularly impressive: snatching at least three goals in each playoff round and a majority of his goals scored on the road—a record for the NHL playoffs.

With the 2025 season behind him, Bennett’s contract is set to expire on July 1, leaving him as a sought-after free agent. This season has certainly added weight to his resume, highlighting his contributions to Buffalo’s championship quest.
