The U.S. women’s national team is set to face Ireland and Canada in a three-match summer series. Head coach Emma Hayes has finalized a 25-player training camp roster for these upcoming fixtures. This selection features a blend of newer and experienced players, although some star players are notably absent.
The USWNT will face Ireland in two friendlies, starting on June 26 in Commerce City, Colorado, and concluding on June 29 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They will then play against Canada in Washington, D.C., on July 2. The coach acknowledged the absence of several European-based players, citing their lengthy club seasons.
Naomi Girma, the only European-based player, is among the veterans of the squad, along with NWSL players Lynn Biyendolo and Rose Lavelle, who lead with the most caps.
Lavelle returns after recovering from ankle surgery, ready to potentially rejoin the national team in her hometown. Meanwhile, other players like Croix Bethune and Yazmeen Ryan are back from injuries that kept them away from the last camp.
“We want to continue improving our strategies and broaden our player base, which are key aims for this three-match window,” Hayes shared. She added that the primary goal is to win and prepare for future challenges, particularly with the upcoming Concacaf W Championship World Cup qualifiers in November 2026.
