The 2025 College World Series has narrowed down to two teams, Coastal Carolina and LSU, who advanced to the finals in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Chanticleers secured their place by defeating Louisville with a score of 11-3, marking their 26th consecutive win. They are now just two victories away from clinching their second NCAA title, the first of which they won in 2016. LSU triumphed over Arkansas by rallying to score three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, capitalizing on Arkansas’ mishaps to tie the score, ultimately sealing their spot in the final showdown.
During this tension-filled match, Arkansas appeared to have the upper hand with Justin Thomas Jr.’s two-run single leading 5-3 in the top of the ninth. However, critical defensive errors allowed LSU to respond with two runs to even the game.
The highly anticipated three-game championship series between LSU and Coastal Carolina begins this Saturday afternoon.
