DJ Burns Takes Aim at Another Championship in The Basketball Tournament
Former NC State basketball star DJ Burns prepares for an exciting summer in The Basketball Tournament, joining Team Challenge ALS for a shot at glory.
DJ Burns, a star from the former North Carolina State team, is set to participate in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) this summer, after becoming a fan-favorite during his time in the NCAA tournament.
Burns will represent Team Challenge ALS, which has competed in TBT multiple times to promote awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), securing a warm reception from fans.
Known for his unique playing style, the 6-foot-9, 275-pound player has gained admiration from fans across various colleges. In 2024, Burns led the NC State team, seeded 11th, to the Final Four for the first time since 1983, solidifying their status as one of the lowest seeds to achieve this milestone.
He averaged 14.2 points, 3.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds throughout five NCAA Tournament games, leading to memorable wins against formidable teams like Texas Tech, Marquette, and Duke.
Though he was not picked in the 2024 NBA Draft, this summer’s tournament will offer Burns a chance to rekindle the excitement he brought to basketball fans. The TBT commences on July 18.
