Gambler Misses Out on $270,000 After Edmonton Oilers Fall to Florida Panthers in Stanley Cup

A bettor named Drew Hirschman narrowly missed a massive payout following the Oilers' loss in the Stanley Cup Finals.

A bettor almost scored a breathtaking $270,000 payout if the Oilers had claimed victory in the 2025 Stanley Cup. Unfortunately for him, the Florida Panthers raised the championship trophy instead on Tuesday night.

Despite not hitting the jackpot, he managed to secure a consolation prize.

The Backstory

On June 19, 2024, Drew Hirschman placed a $13 bet on a five-part parlay with staggering odds of around +2082600.

  1. Liberty to win the WNBA title
  2. Dodgers to clinch the World Series
  3. Eagles to triumph in the Super Bowl
  4. Oilers to take home the Stanley Cup
  5. Thunder to win the NBA Finals

The Liberty, Dodgers, and Eagles all succeeded. All that was left was for the Oilers and Thunder to finish strong for Hirschman to emerge with over a quarter-million dollars.

However, Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals was dominated by the Panthers. They clinched the title 4-2 by overpowering the Oilers 5-1 on Tuesday.

Fortunately, Hirschman had hedged his bet, allowing him to exit with winnings ranging from $75,000 to $90,000.

A remarkable return on his initial $13 wager, even if it fell short of achieving the quarter-million goal.
