Pacers' Haliburton Warns Against Complacency Ahead of Game 7 Showdown

After the Indiana Pacers secured a dramatic Game 6 victory over the Thunder, Tyrese Haliburton emphasizes the need to stay focused before Game 7.

The Indiana Pacers have pushed the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder to Game 7 with a commanding 108-91 victory. Tyrese Haliburton, who played despite a calf strain, acknowledged the mix of relief and pressure that comes with such praise. He warned against falling into complacency, using the metaphor of college football coaching legend Nick Saban’s ‘rat poison’.

“For the next two days, everybody’s going to be talking about how good we looked, how well we played, how much pressure is on OKC,” Haliburton noted.

“That’s going to be the narrative. We gotta do a good job of staying away from that stuff. I think that can be poison. If we do a good job of just kind of staying within ourselves in the locker room, I think that’s very important for us in these next couple of days.”

The Pacers demonstrated their skills with 15 three-pointers and effective defense, capitalizing on 21 turnovers from the Thunder. They built a 22-point lead by halftime to secure their place in the decisive game slated for Sunday evening in Oklahoma City.
