Injury Hits NBA Draft Hopeful Jalon Moore, Agent Critiques Pre-Draft Schedule
Jalon Moore's injury just days before the NBA Draft raises questions about the league's pre-draft workout process.
NBA Draft prospect Jalon Moore suffered a torn Achilles during a pre-draft workout in San Antonio just four days ahead of this year’s event. His agent Mike Silverman told ESPN that Moore is CBS Sports’ No. 76 prospect, putting him just outside second-round projections. Although Moore is expected to make a full recovery, the injury could not have come at a worse time.
“We’re truly heartbroken for Jalon,” Silverman said via ESPN. “It’s time to revamp the NBA pre-draft process. Flying around the country to perform intense competitive workouts exposes players to risk of major injuries. No other pro sports league puts their draft prospects in this position.”
“Estamos verdaderamente destrozados por Jalon, dijo Silverman a través de ESPN. Es hora de revisar el proceso de pre-draft de la NBA. Volar por el país para realizar intensos entrenamientos competitivos expone a los jugadores a un riesgo de lesiones graves. Ninguna otra liga deportiva profesional pone a sus prospectos del draft en esta posición.”
Moore averaged 15.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in his senior season at Oklahoma. He is a versatile forward who has proven to be a consistent three-point threat and helped lead the Sooners to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed.
