Terry McLaurin's Contract Negotiations: $30 Million Goal Causes Disputes with the Commanders

Terry McLaurin seeks a substantial contract amid unresolved negotiations with the Washington Commanders.

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin skipped the mandatory minicamp due to a contract impasse with the team. Recent reports indicate that the negotiations are stalled as McLaurin aims for a new contract that could be valued around $30 million annually, potentially placing him among the NFL’s highest-earning wide receivers.

According to NFL analyst Albert Breer, many players currently command salaries in the $30 million range, highlighting McLaurin’s aspirations given his recent performance—a career-high 13 touchdowns last season. Breer stated, “If you’re Terry McLaurin, you’re looking for a starting figure around $30 million per year.”

Reflecting on his past, McLaurin has previously held out during contract discussions with the Commanders before ultimately signing an extension. As the new season approaches, he is expected to secure a deal that would likely see him through to the end of the 2028 season, aligning with quarterback Jayden Daniels’ rookie contract.
