
Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy has been honored as the 2025 Golden Spikes Award winner, recognized for his exceptional performance during the college baseball season, as announced by USA Baseball on Saturday. Aloy, projected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming MLB Draft, follows in the footsteps of previous Arkansas winners Kevin Kopps (2021) and Andrew Benintendi (2015).
During his impressive season, Aloy maintained a batting average of .350, with 21 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 81 runs scored, while committing only five errors in the field. His standout postseason included three home runs and multi-hit games, further solidifying his status as a top player.

Other finalists for the award included Tennessee’s Liam Doyle and Florida State’s Alex Lodise.

Aloy previously earned the SEC Player of the Year award and began his college career at Sacramento State, quickly gaining recognition. He transferred to Arkansas to play alongside his brother, Kuhio Aloy. Despite some challenges in his sophomore season, Aloy rebounded to have a breakout year, showcasing his exceptional skills and making a significant impact in college baseball.
