Rick Carlisle Finds Motivation in Thunder's Championship Bus Video Ahead of NBA Finals Game 7

Indiana Pacers' coach Rick Carlisle draws inspiration from a viral video of championship buses ahead of a crucial Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ahead of the first NBA Finals Game 7 since 2016, the Indiana Pacers coach, Rick Carlisle, has found inspiration in a video that has started to go viral. When discussing his team’s ability to perform under pressure, Carlisle shared his thoughts:

“I just saw a video that’s likely going to be widely shared, showing some open-top buses presumably painted for a championship parade. That’s all that’s on my mind right now.”

The video features workers prepping buses that boast images of the Larry O’Brien trophy and text declaring “2025 Champions”.

Carlisle, who experienced a championship parade while leading the 2010-11 Mavericks to victory over the Heat, expressed his discontent with the video. The Pacers already defied expectations by defeating the East’s top seed, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the New York Knicks to reach the Finals. Facing the Thunder, who won 68 games in the regular season, the series has proven to be more competitive than anticipated.

The Pacers are striving for their first NBA title.
