An overview of the significant trades leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, highlighting key player movements.
The 2025 NBA Draft commences Wednesday evening in Brooklyn. However, various NBA teams have begun striking deals prior to draft night. Since Sunday, several All-Stars have been traded, most notably when the Rockets completed a major trade, bringing Kevin Durant from the Suns.
The Celtics have been active lately, trading Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers, while Kristaps Porziņģis has been traded to join Trae Young with the Atlanta Hawks. Meanwhile, the Celtics acquired Anfernee Simons in exchange for Holiday.
Due to the Durant trade, the Suns now possess Houston’s No. 10 overall pick. By Wednesday morning, around sixteen first-round picks had switched teams, and the Brooklyn Nets, who were involved in the Porziņģis trade, secured five of the top 27 picks.
